Twins

Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing these little guys. Meet Lucas and Alexandria (Alex) they are too cute with their round chubby little faces.
AlexLucas
Cute chubby feet.Their house has a lot of elaborate stair cases, so their parents had to safety proof by installing plexiglass.
Mother and daughter
I think Lucas will be a musician one day. He was all about the musical instruments.
It was a really beautiful day so we took the twins to the park. We wore them out during the photo session at the house and we hoped they would get a second wind.
They were tired.
I had a great time with these guys. Such a pleasure to be around. I can not imagine all the hard work that goes into caring for twins every day! You are super parents.
Thank you for having me over!

Box's Box's more box's

I hate moving. But we are almost done. The problem now is I need to unpack which I think is harder than packing. I don't know where anything is going to go. The kitchen is still under construction so all the kitchen stuff must remain boxed.
I sold my couch last night, whew. We delivered it and had to take it up three flights of stairs, to almost not get it in the door to new owners apartment. But we did it! I now only have to sell my bed. If anyone wants a queen bed with a split box spring let me know. They are in great condition and I am selling it for a very fair price.
I am super tired now. It has been a long long day, but thankfully there are only a few things left to take care of at the old house and I can work on getting settled in the new one.
Good night!

Fun with a new lens

I am having a little bit of fun with my new fisheye lens. I just got it in the mail today and of course had to test it out. Here are some fun shots, with some brave participants. I'll go first.
Its is not your every day lens thats for sure. I intend to have some fun with it. It will be fantastic for scooter rallies and venue shots.

Day 1 Stats

WOW! Thank you all so much for checking out my new site today. My stats went through the roof. I received 243 page loads, 203 unique visitors and 25 returning visitors for the website all in less than a 12 hour time period. As you can see it was a dramatic spike from the norm. I hope the site will continue to draw attention. These numbers are really exciting.
The blog pulled in really high as well! 110 page loads, 60 unique visitors and 15 returning visitors. It's so cool to see that spike.
I am so happy the new website has received such a good response. Thank you all for making it happen. Keep checking back as I plan to update it with new images regularly.

Suspense

The suspense is killing me. My new site is set to go up at any moment now. I hoped it would be up today, but that was not the case. I had to fix a couple of bugs and get some things to be just so and now I am just waiting for the final push. I will be sending out a joyful announcement when it is up, don't you worry!
There are some changes, I am now joymoody.com. All the moodycamera.com links will still work so if you have things bookmarked don't worry. The same thing goes for my email, I will still receive email to joy@moodycamera but my new address is joy@joymoody.
Some of you have expressed to see some of the photos taken of me from the biz bootcamp last week, so these are for you. The first two were taken by Paige, and you will see one of them again in the new site. The last one Liana took, you will see that one again too.

Keep checking back, I will make an announcement as soon as the new site is live.

Introducing Carver Kielinski

Thursday evening while waiting and dealing with delayed flights I got the best phone call from Linette to tell me she finally had the baby. This little man was two weeks late.
I received a great email from Kyle announcing his arrival and the color pics you see here. I thought I would share what he said with you:
Well, after some hemming and hawing the wee lad finally decided to make his way into the world. I'm a mighty proud papa! April 12th, 2006 at 10:53am is his official birthdate. Mother and son are doing well and we'll all be going home tomorrow afternoon. Linette was tough, strong, brave and beautiful during the lightning quick two hour active labor. Here are some pictures taken from Walter Carver Kielinski's Birth Day.
He has a ton of hair, look at his little faux hawk. Doesn't he look like a little somoan baby? He was 9lbs 21 inches, a true Kielinski.

I had the pleasure of visiting the new family on Saturday before they went home. Linette looks great and she is looking forward to being at home and bonding with baby. The nurse said visitors at home either have to bring food, help clean or do the dishes for the new parents. :) Pretty good idea. I got to take a few shots while I was there.
AWWWW! The little guy is so irresistible.

The first photos of the new family
Linette is going to be an awesome mom.

Check out the proud papa. There is something about a proud dad and new baby. It was really great seeing Kyle in his new role as daddy.
I am really excited for Linette and Kyle. This kid is going to be the most photographed kid I know with two photographer parents and countless photographer friends including myself.
Of course Auntie Joy needed a photo with the little guy!

Inspired

Wow. I had such an amazing experience at Liana's with such a wonderful group of women. We all came together to better our businesses and help each other. We laughed we cried and we made some amazing friendships and connections. It was like summer camp. We were sad to leave and come back to reality BUT so excited to use what we have learned. Of course we took pictures, we are photographers after all.
Deb is such an amazing and talented woman.
Isn't she beautiful!
Chrissy Hall, Christine Hall Photography
Chrissy surprised me with how goofy her personality was. She is awesome.

Chrissy and Deb had to leave us a day early and I was so bummed because we had such a fun photo shoot on the last day. Each of us took turns being the subject and totally out of our comfort zone behind the camera. I admit it I have a hard time being the subject and give my clients so much credit for trusting me, they work just as hard as I do.

Ginger Russell, Ginger Russell Photography, LLC
Ginger was my coffee confidant. We are spoiled with our want and need of half and half. Ginger has the perfect combination of sass, humor and sarcasm that I totally love. She is honest and real. She is also a kick ass photographer!
Paige McAfee, Paige Elizabeth Photography
Paige is such an awesome whole hearted woman. When she talks you want to listen, she has a voice that is soothing and poetic.

And Liana our host.
Awesome woman. She taught us so much and offered such hospitality by inviting us into her home. Thank you so much for bringing all of us together. You can check her blog out here.
I had a hard time choosing photos so I decided just to post my favorites of everyone.

This was such an amazing experience that I would not take back for the world. I have gained knowledge, confidence, and new friends. Here are the tissues if you are as weepy as me right now.You girls are amazing.

New Site, very soon!

I am really excited that my new Website will go live soon. I am aiming for the end of this week. Here is a sneak peek! I am going to send out a big email when it goes live. Bigger images, and a major upgrade visually. Long time coming.

I am in the middle of moving and this past weekend was such a whirl wind of cleaning, packing and preparing for my trip to Atlanta. Oh yeah I am in Atlanta. I will be here until Thursday. I am going to be learning all sorts of good stuff for my business from Liana. She is graciously letting me stay in her guest bedroom, the black and white room.
While I will be away I will be checking email in the evenings and I am not totally unreachable.

One more note to give Linette some baby chants, she is almost two weeks overdue now and it takes every bit of me not to call her every single day and ask how she is. She is going to call me when she goes into labor, although I think that may be the last thing she will be thinking to do. I am so excited for this little boy to be here I can hardly stand it. And Linette is huge, has to be one of the biggest bellies I have seen to date. Send some labor vibes her way.

You all have a great week.

Kristin and Phil's engagement shoot

Friday Don and I drove down to D.C. to meet Kristin and Phil for their engagement shoot. We had a wonderful day and D.C. was so beautiful with the cherry blossoms in full bloom. They are getting married here in Philly this October. We thought it would be a good idea to do the engagement shoot in D.C. since it is where they first met and where they live.
They are such a cute couple and I am so excited for them. They even have their own website counting down the days until the wedding. Check it out here.Thank you for such an amazing tour, we had a great time with you and look forward to your wedding day.
