Introducing Dylan and Caleb

Our good friends Paul and Steph welcomed their two new boys into the world on Tuesday! A few of us set out tonight to meet these little guys.
Introducing Dylan the strapping redhead weighing in at 6lbs 7oz.
Dylan was super cute and oh so calm during the entire visit. He barely peeped those eyes open at all.

And introducing Caleb, the demure brunette weighing in at 5lbs 8oz.

This little guy was super active when I first arrived. He had himself all worked up and was almost as red as a cherry! When Steph was pregnant she always complained about this little guy on her right side always punching her and rolling around. This guy is definitely a mover and a shaker, he had his hands in his mouth, he was looking around, all the while his brother slept calmly. But I held him for most of the evening and he really likes being held, not one peep, he slept the entire time he was in my arms.

I think Paul is a little excited to be a dad, he likes the perks.
Steph was doing really well despite having just had twins! She is pretty swollen and getting over some preeclampsia, but Steph is a wonder woman and will be back to herself in no time. She is looking forward to going home will all her boys.
Paul is a really excited and proud papa.

It was great to see you guys and meet the new additions to the family! Congratulations!

Ferocious in Pink

Fury is a ferocious kitty, hence the name. So yeah she is temperamental and basically I am the only one who understands this cat. Since moving and now living with Alma the dog things have been a little stressful at times. Cat doesn't like dog, dog is curious about cat, cat is in a new unfamiliar environment intruding on dogs space. So needless to say there has been some bloodshed.
To remedy the situation I had her scheduled to be declawed, but I couldn't go through with it. So we resorted to trying out soft paws, and wow what a difference. She most certainly lived up to her name at the Vet when they clipped her nails and applied the soft paws. I have never seen her so upset and thrashing before, scary. But she has been super pleasant ever since she came home from the whole Vet ordeal. Soft paws are wonderful, I love them. And Fury has become used to them, she still scratches on her little scratcher and its wild to see her stretch her paws with these super long pink nails sticking out.
I didn't choose pink if you were wondering. That is the only color they had. Its a little obnoxious but I have gotten used to it and I will know if one falls off thats for sure.

Baby Dillan

Today I met baby Dillan. Dillan is Patty's youngest son and today we did a 6 month photo shoot, similar to the one we did with Mason. (If you watch Mason's slideshow you can see just how far I have come in the past couple of years of doing them!) So Mason is now a two year old and little Dillan looks so much like Mason did when he was a baby.
I love catching that baby drool.
Mason has grown and changed so much since I saw him last. He still looks so tiny next to their dog Renegade though, Renegade is a very big Weimaraner but totally sweet.
I wish I could have seen the shenanigans going on beside me, Patty and her mom had these boys in stitches. Aren't they cute!

It was wonderful to see you all again. I look forward to the one year shoot.

Fathers Day Shoot with Nuala

On Saturday I had the honor of photographing little Nuala for the 4th time! It has been so much fun to watch her grow up. She is 17 months and very smart. She uses a lot of sign language which I think is really cool for young children.
I just love this family portrait.
Habits are hard to break. When Nuala was 3 months old she would put her arms above her head with satisfaction after eating, at 17 months it is much of the same just with a little more animation.

She climbed up on the booth all by herself to surprise her daddy.
As I was leaving she decided she wanted to sit in the big chair, she was so cute I could not resist unpacking my camera for a couple more shots as Mom blew bubbles for her.

Enjoy your slideshow!

Weekend Catching up

I feel really good about all the things I accomplished this weekend! Friday I took my cat to the vet for a nail trim and soft paws application. I will see if I can get a photo of her, she has bright pink nails, its a little ridiculous but they didn't have any other colors. Saturday morning I met up with Rebecca and Kevin for Nuala's 17 month photo shoot. We had a lot of fun in Rittenhouse square and a great breakfast afterwards.
Rebecca snagged this shot of me an Naula on the car ride home. I will have a post later this week for Nuala's shoot, plus slideshow.
After I my shoot with Nuala I headed out for my long awaited haircut with Joe. I have waited a month and a half for this appointment!
I think I embarrassed Joe a little breaking out the "big" camera.
The fisheye, again to thank for some cool shots.
Joe is awesome. He always listens to what I ask for, does great color and is totally worth the 30-40 minute drive. A big congratulations to him and his wife, they are expecting their first baby in about a month.
For the past month I have been living out of box's waiting to set up my office. I was spoiled at my last place by ample storage and a closet to tuck things away in. I have no storage now and it was beginning to drive me crazy. So Friday we set out to IKEA to get some cabinets and start the office transformation.
It's really amazing what a couple of cabinets can do! I have already unpacked 4 box's! WooHoo. We also found an awesome book shelf, I need to get another table for all my standing work and a couple more things but it feels so good having a place to put things away.
My desk looks so meager now. Its just a table top from IKEA and I think they have a longer version, which depending on the size of the standing table I may opt for the longer one. When it all comes together I am going to have a real cozy place to work.

I will be catching up on a lot this week. You should expect to finally see Lauren and Keith's slideshow as well as Nual's. I hope you all had a great weekend.

Lauren and Keith are Married!

Wow. What an amazing day. Lauren and Keith are such a fantastic couple. They were so excited and happy for this day to finally arrive. I had a blast at this wedding!

Lauren was stunning.
Keith was looking mighty handsome as well.
The Dress

Lauren was so excited to get married. She could hardly wait to get up to the alter with Keith.
Lauren was so funny when she walked down the aisle. She practically ran. It was such a great moment. She broke the ice when she said "Hi Everyone" as she quickly made her way to Keith. All the guests burst into laughter. I just love this photo Lauren and her dad were so excited to get down that aisle.
This is the moment they were pronounced man and wife, you can just see the excitement in their faces.
First moment alone as man and wife.

Congratulations you two! I hope your hawaiian honeymoon is amazing. I will have a slideshow later this week. I couldn't wait to post these images.
Thank you also to Misty for coming out to shoot with me! I can't wait to see your images.

Pennsylvania Hospital's Solutions for Women

It has taken a lot of preparation but the photos are finally hanging on the walls and it feels so good! My wonderful clients Katria and George referred me to the Solutions for Women. They just got this newly renovated space and they needed something to fill the walls. What better than my images! Check out the slideshow below.

Debi at Solutions for Women has been great to work with. The whole office is so nice, and so excited for the images that are hanging on the walls now. It makes a huge difference. Today was the first day and they said the response was really positive.

At the Solutions for women they council women about breastfeeding to breast cancer. The new space gives them the room they needed so desperately and the setting is inviting and relaxing. It is open to the public, and if you are a new mom you should check it out, they have a lot of merchandise for new moms.

My images will be up for at least a year, so if you can't make it next week you still have some time. Thank you so much to all my clients for being so wonderful and allowing me to display your amazing faces and bellies.

Subway Tiles

We are making progress on the kitchen, slowly but surely! This past weekend we were supposed to be out of town but we decided to cancel our plans which was honestly a big relief. Don had some big projects and I was so backed logged getting events out the door. So we had a very productive weekend. I finished all of my work and was able to help prepare the tiles for the backsplash.
The vintage subway tiles look great with the penny tile counter tops.
I was getting a little abstract with some details.

Since these tiles are truely rescued vintage subway tiles that meant they needed a lot of cleaning up. These are the really bad ones. Luckily I don't think we will have to bother getting all the cement off of these, looks like we will have plenty of better tiles to finish the job.

This is how we have to clean them off. You have to run a blade along all the surfaces to make sure all old cement and grout are off the tile. It is quite the laboring job.
oooohhhhh aaaaaaahhhh
I can not wait till we finish the kitchen. It is going to look awesome.

Deb & Malk's Wedding

Deb & Malk had a beautiful wedding at the Morris Arboretum last weekend. The weather was a little on the warm side for May, but the day was absolutely beautiful and we could not have asked for more.

The lovely Bride and Groom
Deb was absolutely beautiful
Heather Fowler came out to shoot with me and she did a fantastic job. It was great working with her, I will be shooting with her again in October. These are two of my favorite shots of Deb from Heather. The above shot of Malk is also from Heather.
This was my first Jewish Wedding, and I loved it. During the exchange of rings the bride and groom place the ring on each others index finger, they are then instructed to accept one another on their own free will by moving it to their ring finger.
Malk was so proud of his ring. You will see in the slideshow that even during the ceremony he couldn't stop looking at it and touching it. So sweet.
