Logan and Maddy

I spent Saturday morning with Maddy and Logan, two kids with a ton of energy. We had a lot of fun and it was a special occasion which allowed for jumping on the bed and they took full advantage.
Logan is five and pure goofy boy, he was all about the facial expressions. Maddy is four and she loves the camera, I predict she will be a cheerleader when she grows up, you will see in the slideshow. They were both super friendly kidos and had a lot to show me in each of their rooms. Don't be scared when you see Logan under the bed proving to me there are no monsters, just little boys in masks.

Here are couple of fun shots that sum of each of them pretty good.

I added a couple extra touch ups to these photos. After seeing some of the art work in their house I was inspired to experiment a little myself in the post processing.

It was a pleasure getting to hang out with these guys, I like it when I go to a clients home and feel like I have known them for years. These kids were not shy at all, they were totally excited for a photo shoot where the goal was to play and have fun.

Baby Sienna

I don't think I have laughed so hard or had so much fun during a moody baby shoot. Sienna was a total ham, really, she was totally working the camera. Her parents were blown away by her actions, she had us in stitches the whole time. I wish I could have recorded sound to go along with these pictures, she was oooohing, oooooing and randomly making funny sounds the whole time. It was a riot.
This photo and the series in the slideshow were my first moments meeting her.
I think this happens to me on every baby shoot. They love to reach out for the camera! Luckily I bring a lens cleaning cloth with me just in case!
She was fascinated with the cats in the courtyard outside her window.
Isn't that baby bum too cute?
By the end of the session she was tuckered out and ready for bed. It was perfect timing really since it was an evening shoot and we ended at her bed time.
I love this photo of her and Tiffany.
Enjoy your slideshow, it was a pleasure!

Dawn and Mike's Slideshow

I finally had a chance to go through all the photos from Dawn and Mike's wedding, Don and I really out did ourselves by the sheer number of images we took that day. It was great reliving the day all over again today and noticing things about the day that passed by so quickly I had already forgotten about them. Thank goodness for photographs!
Dawn and Mike are not only great clients but they are really good personal friends of mine. There was always a special connection between Dawn and Mike, but the timing was not always right, until a couple of years ago. It was like the stars aligned to point straight at them. I know that they were excited about it but I think the circle of friends were even more excited. They are the perfect match and I am really happy for them.
Congratulations you guys I hope the honeymoon is going great.

Isabelle Belly

I just got the film back from Isabelle's shoot on July 4th, and I am very excited. She was absolutely beautiful and confident. It was a pleasure working with her and her husband, who by the way was a great sport participating in the shoot. There are many images I can not post but hopefully these two will be enough.

Meet the Hofherr's

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Micheal Hofherr!
Wow, what a weekend. We got home today from an amazing wedding and extended weekend. Mike and Dawn's wedding was fantastic, loads of fun and loads of photos! I did not have internet access the past couple of nights and we have had such busy days that I have not had a chance to even look through all the images. I will be doing that over the next day or two and I will certainly be making a much larger photo post and slideshow.
For now I must say goodnight and leave you with one image from the day.

Show me some love, comments back on.

No wonder I was feeling so unloved! Somehow all my comments were turned off, actually I have to check a box every time I have a new post that says if I want comments or not...didn't used to be that way. I am wise to it now, comments are enabled so feel free to share your love.

Sunset and anniversary

First of all happy 3 year anniversary to my wonderful boyfriend Don. I can't believe it has been three years, and I am sad I was not in town for it.

I ventured out a little today just to get out of the house and be in the New Mexico sunshine. The sky is always amazing, it doesn't really matter what kind of day it is.
Mom is doing ok. It is very frustrating dealing with the health system. They were supposed to perform a procedure on her, which is why I am here, and they did not do anything but verify what we already knew. Then the doctor refused to tell her what he saw during the supposed procedure saying she was too medicated when all she had all day was 2 Tylenol for a headache. If you live in Las Cruces I would highly NOT recommend you going to Mountain View Hospital. On top of them not doing what they were supposed to do, the reason I came out here to help with recovery from, when I went to pick my mom up nobody seemed to know where she was and if she was a patient. They sent me on a wild goose chase all over the hospital, which is not large by any means. Very frustrating, very aggravating.
I am grateful to have had a nice visit with my mom, but it is upsetting at the same time because when she does get this procedure done I will not be here to help.
We are just relaxing and enjoying some down time, and I am trying to get out and shoot a little.
We had a little bit of a sunset today, I am still waiting for the spectacular sunsets I miss so much. Still you can not deny that this is beautiful.

Home in New Mexico

I am home in New Mexico for a couple of days, and every time I leave and come back I gain a greater appreciation for this beautiful state.
My mom's back yard.
This is a wild desert bird of paridise.
of course cactus are all over the place, I love the long needles.
This is a close up abstract view of a rotting choya leaf
a broader view of the choya, its like a huge artichoke.
I wanted to post some pictures of the sunset but there wasn't much of one tonight. Last night when I arrived I was greeted with an awesome lightning and thunder storm, natures fireworks. It was awesome and one of the things I miss most about being here.
My mom is having a bit of surgery tomorrow, which is why I am home. Everything should go fine they say and I am happy to be here to help out.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July.

Scooter Rally

This is going to be a long post, just to warn you.
See the super fast slideshow here

This past weekend was the annual Philadelphia Independence Day Scooter Rally or ID7. Every year the scooter clubs of Philadelphia unite to put on one awesome rally. We had over 150 scooters this year. It is quite the sight to see and maybe some of you did. To give you an idea of what you do at a rally here you go:
Betty spinning some awesome toons
Heather hanging outside making funny faces
Walt just being cool hanging out on his bike
Don's scooter, 3 time best rat award winner
Len not letting being in a chair get him away from the scooter scene.
Awesome vintage bikes
Slapmeat loves our patches
Chris all gassed up and ready to ride
cool riding shots and rallies are not just for scooters, guys on motorcycles like hanging out as well.
Nothing like riding in a pack of 150 scooters
Self portraits
Rachel knows how to have a good time, thanks to The Get Back
Awesome night shots, maybe album cover?

Late night rides, or should I say early morning rides to the Manayunk Diner.
Nothing like getting home at 5 a.m. and watching the sun come up.

Its all about the love of scooters, great people and fun times. There is a scooter rally just about every weekend during the summer in one place or another. I know we are planning on attending a couple more rallies this year, Connecticut, Pittsburgh, NJ, Rhode Island, possibly some others. I know Don will probably get to more of those than I will but I am going to try and and make it to at least two or three of them.
If you are interested in seeing more photos, check them out here.

Have a wonderful 4th of July, I am headed out to New Mexico tomorrow and will return next week. I will be sure to post while I am away.

Night Blooming Cereus

It has been such a crazy weekend with the scooter rally, more on that to come. We got home this morning as the sun was rising to find that my Cereus had bloomed! I was so bummed because I had not anticipated it to bloom yet, I thought it had at least a couple of days to go. So I missed it, the flower was already starting to wilt and wither. The plant only blooms at night and the flower only lasts one night, it is a strange phenomenon. Luckily this year the plant is going to have a lot of blooms, and this afternoon when I went out to just look it over I noticed that it was going to bloom again! Woohooo two nights in a row!
You can tell it is going to bloom that night because you can see the white pedals of the flower.
Here was the plant this afternoon, you can see the previous nights bloom all withered out on the left. And you can see future blooms sticking out in spots.
Here it is in full bloom. It is such a beautiful flower with a faint floral dusty smell. From what I have read the flower is pollinated by moths, hence the attractive dusty smell.I will post more later about the scooter rally. It has been a long, fun and exhausting weekend. We just got home from the last wrap up of events and I was too excited to go to bed without posting something about my Cereus plant first.
