Danica's Belly

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Danica and Ben. They are getting ready to welcome their new little bundle into their lives. They are going to be surprised by the sex of the baby, which I think is so exciting. Another exciting thing is that Danica is due around my birthday, Dec 11, if she ends up having this baby on my birthday I have already told her to expect something special from me! Lets keep our fingers crossed I think that would be so cool.

I know I don't show enough bellies and its one of my favorite things to photograph, but with that said these are very intimate sessions and I only share the photos that I know my clients will be comfortable with. I am happy to show more examples of these sessions in personal meetings if you are interested in seeing more.

This is my favorite from the session. It jumped out at me when I picked up the film and looked at the contact sheets to make sure they were all way ok. I love it.
It is abstract and I love how her form mimics the pattern on the floor.

You have to love these dad shots. He is going to be a super proud daddy.
I love Danica's expression in this photograph. She is so excited and it certainly shows.
We had a ton of fun during this session. I broke away from some of my standards because it was a super dark rainy day. This is the first session I brought along my little video light. I am all about using available light but there are some circumstances that you just don't have it. This light was great because it is a constant running light, and it gets super hot which in the winter really warms a room up! Great for pregnant women wearing very little!

I can not wait to hear when you have this baby and I will be so excited for our moody baby session. Congratulations you guys.

Ready for the Holidays!

Don and I are on top of the game this year. We got our tree this past weekend and decorated it last night. Last year we didn't have a tree and were not around for the holidays, but this year is different.
I wanted a white tree, and I got a white tree! Like Don's White Dove on top?
I have only ever had real tree's before, but this year I really wanted something different and stylish. This tree is great it comes in three pieces, it is pre-lit and it took maybe five minutes to put up. Its a Martha Stewart tree, on sale now, we checked out all the stores with white trees and the Martha Stewart tree was the best and the best price.
We went out to Adamstown on Sunday to do a little holiday shopping at the antique markets and I found this amazing ornament, it is by far my favorite and it was 2.00!
We stuck with a monochromatic theme, beautiful blues, whites and clear balls. We have a few other vintage ornaments as well and we picked up some costume jewelry that we used as garland on the tree.
We are ready. I know its super early, but I am leaving for New Mexico this weekend and will be out of town for almost two weeks. By the time I get back it will be my birthday and already the middle of the month. I am happy we are getting ready early it puts me in a much better holiday mood!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We had a bit of an untraditional day but it was a great day. It was so warm here that we decided to take advantage of it and wash and wax our cars. I can't even tell you how long its been since my car was washed. After we were done we came in and prepared some side dishes for dinner, got showered and headed over to our friends Paul and Steph's. They invited us over when they found out we didn't really have anything planned this year. It was great to spend the evening with good friends and babies! They have twin boys, Dylan and Caleb. They are getting so big!

Dylan
Caleb
We had a great time and I know Paul and Steph welcomed the additional helping hands with kitchen stuff and babies of course! We had a ton of yummy dishes and Steph made a carrot cake to die for!

Paul and babies all tuckered out!
I hope everyone had a wonderful day!

Baby Carver

Linette is one of my best friends, I went to school with her and Kyle at Drexel. We are all photographers, and you know that they have many fantastic photos of their little boy Carver. But the curse of the photographer is that you are rarely on the other side of the camera. They have plenty of photos with one parent and photos of them as a family are pretty sparse. So in comes the photographer friend to save the day! Woohoo! I had so much fun.
Kyle getting the little man up from his nap.
Kyle is the King of funky faces and that gene was certainly passed on to Carver, check out the attitude in this one!
Like I said, King of faces.

I don't think clipping finger nails can get any more beautiful than this!Bath Time
I love this little guy, he is so used the camera it's scary.
My poster child for MoodyBaby.
If you schedule a shoot with me you will be receiving one of these lovely onsies!
Without further ado, enjoy the slideshow. I had a lot of fun with this one, its very entertaining. Just wait to see Linette dancing for Carver.

Baby Miles

I love getting to watch these kidos grow up! Last year when I visited Stephanie and Justin Miles was 10 weeks old! He has grown up so much, but he still looks the same (you know how some babies totally change) and is so adorable. Check out last years slideshow here.

Stephanie thinks Miles may be a professional Chef when he grows up. This is his normal activity while she is making dinner. Looks like a Chef in the making to me!

Aren't they just the cutest pair? I still see that little baby face in Miles. The street they live on is amazing! Right out of a story book with these fall colors.
Way to adorable.
Stephanie and Justin have so much fun with Miles, I don't blame them.

The song choice in this slideshow is for Miles, this is his favorite song and was playing when we first started our session. Enjoy!

Sneak Peek, 2 moody baby sessions

I get too excited posting these photos! I am working on the slideshows for my two weekend sessions but I just couldn't wait to give you a sneak peek! Its like surprises or when you buy a present for someone early, its so hard not give it to them right away.

I did an official session with Linette, Kyle and Carver on Saturday, it was so much fun and so many great photos!
I also had the pleasure of visiting Justin, Stephanie and Miles again. Miles has gotten so big since last October but he totally looks the same!
The color of the foliage right now is AMAZING! As you can see from the photos above. I feel like its been forever since I have had a real post, so I hope you enjoyed the little sneak peek, check back in the next couple days for more photos and the slideshows!

My Philly Baby

To all the moms out there:
There is a new source for finding anything to suit your babies needs! Check out MyPhillyBaby.

This is a new site dedicated to helping you find the local resources you need. Two of my favorite places are also listed in their directory, Belly Maternity and Yoga Child. Patty from Belly can outfit you in the most fashionable maternity wear and Gail from Yoga Child can help you relax and breath with prenatal yoga classes, as well as mommy and me classes. You can also see photos I did for them on their site and in their stores.

You can also check out the Philadelphia Expectant Mothers guide, there are some awesome resources in their as well. They have been around a long time and are a vast source of information. They actually have a PDF of their guide that you can download.

Enjoy, and I hope these sites can help you find what you are looking for.

Baby Ellena and cousin Nicholas Holiday Shoot

Sunday I went up with Melissa to her sister Michelle's to photograph their kidos for the holidays. Melissa and Michelle plan on surprising their parents with photos of the grandkids for Christmas. The perfect gift!

You might recognize Melissa and Ellena
Michelle and Nicholas
Aren't these guys the cutest? They look like they could be brother and sister.

We had to work super fast because the attention span was pretty short but Nicholas and Ellena were the perfect subjects and very well behaved for all we put them through.
By then end of the evening Nicholas had developed quite the crush on me. He wanted to sit next to me at dinner, he kept crawling in my lap to look at books and inviting me to play cars with him. He truly hammed it up for the fisheye lens too, oh and I have to mention that the Whirly Pop came in handy yet again! Those things work wonders on 3-4 year olds.

Enjoy your slideshow!

Now we're cooking!

I can not even begin to express how excited I am to make my first meal "inside" the house tonight! We have gotten very inventive over the past couple of months cooking on the grill and with the microwave and toaster oven. We have done a lot of eating out as well, too much. Tonight that all comes to an end as I am so excited to prepare the first meal made inside our house in over 4 years!
Check out our vintage 1950's Gaffers and Sattler stove, it has an awesome griddle in the middle and notice our handy dandy pot filler? Nice touch huh. No more lugging a heavy pot of water from the sink to the stove.
We have a few kinks to work out with the stove portion and some of the burners and gas flow, but it works! The past couple of weeks we have been hard at work trying to get this kitchen finished. I am stalled on painting the cabinet doors at the moment because it has been so cold, but the first warm day I have this week I am going to finish them. (I hope we get a warm enough day.) I can not wait to unpack all of my kitchen stuff! Once there are doors on the upper cabinets I will take a full shot of the kitchen, it doesn't look so nice with open cabinets at the moment.

Oliver and Nolan

Have I expressed how much I am loving my chosen occupation right now? I had a ball this past week photographing all these amazingly wonderful families. Today was no different as I spent the morning with Oliver and new baby Nolan. It was my second time meeting Oliver and my first time meeting baby Nolan. He is the cutest thing and Robyn and John couldn't be happier with their new addition to the family.

I Love Love this family portrait. I know Robyn will too because when I showed it to her on the camera she got weepy, so so adorable.
I thought it would be fun to include this one.
This is from our August session before Nolan was born.
Very tender moment between mother and son.
How cute is this kid, straight out of toddler GQ.
Father and son, such a good pair.
I can't take all the credit for this photograph, this was all Robyn's idea. Beautiful.
Baby Nolan and his first photo shoot. He was really showing off for the camera today.
It was so great to see you all again.
I look forward to future shoots and watching these kidos grow.
enjoy your slideshow
